privacy

what we collect

if you use the quote form, we receive what you type: your name, business name, phone, email, website, type of business and city. if you run the free site check, the address you enter is tested with google's pagespeed insights, we read that page, and we look up the business on it on google and yelp, and ask google's ai search who it recommends nearby, to show where you rank. nothing from the check is shared beyond those lookups. if you open a check link we sent you and run it on your own site, we note that it was run so we know to follow up with you. a check you start yourself from this site isn't recorded against you.

how we use it

only to reply to you, prepare your free site check and preview, and keep a record of our conversation. we don't sell or rent your information, and we don't add you to any mailing list.

who else sees it

your details are stored with the service providers that run this business (website hosting, a secure database and email). they process it only to provide those services.

phone calls

when you talk with us on the phone, including with kaya, our ai assistant, the call may be transcribed to text so we have notes and a short recap of what we talked about. we don't store the audio of the call, and we never keep a recording of your voice. where the law asks for it, we tell you at the start of the call.

chats with kaya

when you chat with kaya, our ai assistant, on our website or by text message, we keep the conversation to follow up when you ask us to and to improve kaya. your messages are sent to our ai provider only to write kaya's replies. kaya tells you it is an ai at the start. we don't sell chats or use them to advertise to you. ask us to delete a chat at any time.

text messages

if you check the optional texting box on the quote form, we may text you about your quote at the number you gave. message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. reply stop to opt out at any time or help for help. checking the box is never required to get a quote. mobile information is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.

email from us

we email owners of local businesses using business contact details from public sources, such as their website or business listing. each email says who we are, carries our mailing address and a one-click unsubscribe, and kaya, our ai assistant, signs it. unsubscribe or reply stop and we never email that address again. we keep the address on a suppression list so it stays off.

who processes it

to run this business we use vercel (hosting), supabase (database), google (email, calendar, site and listing lookups), telnyx (calls and texts), retell and anthropic (the ai behind kaya), stripe (payments) and cloudflare (delivery). each processes your information only to provide its service to us.

how long we keep it

as long as we need it to serve you and meet legal and tax duties, then we delete or de-identify it. call audio isn't kept at all.

cookies and tracking

this site doesn't use advertising cookies or ad tracking pixels.

we use microsoft clarity for behavioral analytics, to see how people use the site, like where they tap and how far they scroll, so we can make it easier to use. clarity sets its own cookies and records clicks, scrolls, mouse movement and how the page looked, which can be replayed as a session recording; it hides what you type into forms. microsoft's handling of that data is covered by the microsoft privacy statement.

we also set one cookie of our own, tb_attr, the first time you visit. it remembers how you found us (the site or ad that sent you, any campaign tags in the link, and the first page you landed on) for 90 days. if you send us the quote form, run a site check or sign up, that goes with it so we know which of our marketing works. it isn't shared with anyone else.

you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work.

your choices

you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, opt out of any message, or ask that nothing about you be kept, whether or not your state law gives you the right. email kaya@thornbury.ai, a person reads it, and we answer within 30 days. we never sell or share your information for advertising. if you think we got something wrong, tell us and we will review it again.
